(I won't spoil but) Alex's situation is totally different from Marco's?? What are you saying. Before what happened happened, he was treated like any other pet.

And the reason I'm saying pet and not slave, despite still being enslaved like you say, is because the duties and treatment of pets (the ones we extensively see throughout the VN) is a lot lighter than that of your average slave (Or those offscreen).

Which is exactly my point: The approach to the subject is a lot less insensitive and blunt, and the more crude side of the matter is spoken subtly instead of thrown in your face without rhyme or reason. The latter is bound to, and often does, raise a few eyebrows

The story certainly doesn't condemn them. In fact, the culprits of these themes receive little to no repercussions, and are largely glorified by the fandom

So you tell me.

Pets (Or MC and Alex, aka the only pets with extensive screentime) aren't treated the same as the slaves here, and those that ARE don't get extensive screentime because no one wants to see that! For the most part, it is spoken OF and painted in a bad light, as it should be.

And TLDR Not the biggest fan of careless misogyny, nationalism, abuse, and romanticization of a literal slave and his master

Pay me then

Pleeeeease this is one of my fav scenes don't use it against me

Adastra touches on similar elements, but in no way is it so carelessly mishandled it's glaringly obvious and uncomfortable to the reader

And, why would I want to get with someone who's verbally and physically abused me on multiple occasions

(1 edit)

The sentence structure is juvenile, the use of words is extremely limited, the subject matter is insensitive and stupid...

It was literally written like some sort of shit Private Slave/master RP but haphazardly slapped together in Renpy by a subpar artist.

But when the main character outright EXISTS to argue with an ACTUAL SLAVE that they're being UNREASONABLE???

THIS.

THIS IS PEAK PRIVILEGE.

Literally only someone privileged and ignorant of history could make something like that. And I think that's what pisses me off the most. The ignorance.

And what fucks me up is how they're portrayed as like. "Okay?" Unless they're demonstrably evil. When they're ALL terrible. And the only reason Verissa and Cora don't suck is because the women, sorry, """females,""" are screwed over just as bad as the slaves.

If you're a newcomer reading this, turn around and run. Run as fast as you can and read Adastra or something.
